Enclosure No. 1 to Despatch No.578 7 960 ~

24th. November,1902.

Public Works Office,

Hongkong, 13th. September, 1900.

Sir,

I have the honour to iafore you that a question has arisen regarling the eastern boundary of Inland Lot 582, Garden Road, which is the site of St. Joseph's Chapel, there being two small structures outside the boundary specifiel in the lease.

I had an interview with the Right Reverend Bishop Piazzoli about the matter sone time ago and he produced an apparently old plan undatel which was prepared, I understan1, by the late father Vigano, a tracing of which I enclose.

On this plan is shown a dotted line, which would inclule the structure in question, mackal "Sir Pope Baa- nessy's new graabel boualary".

I submit that the Land Officer be requested to state whether there is any record of this new boundary in his possession. It is desirable that the matter should be cleared up and that the structures should either be removed or the boundary re-adjustal in order to inclule them within the lot.

I have etc., (31.) 1. Chatham, Director of Public Works.

The Honourable

The Colonial Secretary.
